Need a break? How about hours of driving to see Aspen, the home of $5M minimum real estate? It's a kind of long drive to 8,000 ft. but the place is beautiful if it does come on a little slowly. It reminds me of driving to the Grand Canyon. Uneventful until you reach the rim. Then it's spectacular.
The trip starts anywhere and then you get to Colorado. Soon you're experiencing single and double lane roads with speed limits around 30 to 50 mph.
You pass the time. Maybe with a game or 20 of I Spy.
Finally you arrive and can actually see homes along the streets. They start at five million.

About Those Colorado Wildfires Threatening Aspen Area Homes
I didn’t actually realize just where the recent Colorado fires were until one of my colleagues showed up on a video explaining how he had been evacuated from Basalt, an area adjacent to Aspen. He also said there were so few houses available that a fire which destroyed homes would have been devastating to the economy for many years to come because people would not only be out of the home but they would have to leave the area.
I don’t know if this is the same for Aspen as it is for the town of Basalt but I’m hoping the Aspen Real Estate Market Report with Tim Estin eventually has something to say on the topic.
